A cab driver is a professional who drives a taxi or cab to transport passengers safely from one location to another, following traffic rules, managing fares, and often providing friendly customer service.A cab driver is responsible for transporting passengers to their desired destinations safely, efficiently, and comfortably. Their duties include operating a taxi or cab vehicle, navigating through city streets using maps or GPS, and following all traffic laws and safety regulations. Cab drivers are expected to maintain their vehicle in good working condition by checking fuel levels, tire pressure, and performing basic maintenance when necessary. They also interact directly with customers, providing courteous service, assisting with luggage, answering questions, and ensuring a pleasant ride. Cab drivers handle fares, issue receipts, and sometimes manage digital payment systems or ride-hailing apps. They must have good knowledge of local routes, traffic patterns, and landmarks, and be able to make quick decisions to avoid delays. Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills are essential, as drivers often deal with diverse passengers, unexpected traffic conditions, or emergencies. In addition to driving skills, professionalism, punctuality, and reliability are key traits for success in this role. Check state of vehicle and clean it
Perform emergency measures in case of accident. Notify services concerned
Prepare the vehicle, choose routes, foresee possible bad conditions
Check tickets and on board documents or sell necessary tickets/documents
Welcome customer. Determine his/her wishes and advise on products and services
Coordinate a transportation firm specialised in: Transportation of individuals (private) (taxi)
Apply measures for specific situations (passenger absent on boarding, disabled passenger, extradited passenger...)
