- Lead the preparation and submission of mechanical tenders and proposals.
- Coordinate proposal-related activities within the team to ensure quality, consistency, and timely delivery.
- Review client requirements and translate them into cost-effective, technically viable solutions.
- Submit detailed responses to enquiries, including clarifications and technical documentation.
- Define and oversee costing strategies to optimize profitability.
- Act as the main point of contact between the company and clients throughout the tender process.
- Negotiate and confirm contract specifications with external parties including contractors and end users.
- Participate in client negotiations to convert opportunities into confirmed projects.
- Maintain strong relationships with client engineers and decision makers.
- Ensure prompt and effective responses to client queries and requests.
- Manage, coach, and mentor the proposal team to ensure professional growth and high performance.
- Monitor and evaluate team members’ performance against deliverables.
- Encourage a culture of continuous learning, ensuring the team stays updated with the latest technologies and market trends.
- Conduct market and competitor research to inform proposals and pricing strategies.
- Oversee stock utilization and availability to support proposal commitments.
- Research and recommend new technologies and mechanical solutions.
- Foster strong partnerships with clients and subcontractors for future opportunities.
- Deliver proposals within agreed budget parameters while maximizing profitability.
- Identify, mitigate, and manage commercial and statutory risks related to project execution.
- Secure client approval of all project phases and payment schedules in writing.
- Ensure adherence to the company’s standard operating procedures and project management policies.
- Provide timely and structured monthly reports to top management.
- Maintain accurate records of proposals, negotiations, and project communications.
- Ensure full compliance with all internal and external standards and requirements.
- Strong technical background in mechanical engineering.
- Proven experience in mechanical proposals, tendering, and project management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams, delegate tasks, and monitor deliverables.
- Familiarity with contract negotiation and client relationship management.
- Solid understanding of costing, budgeting, and profit optimization strategies.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Maltese.
