The Senior Project Manager will oversee construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring all aspects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This role involves coordinating internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to successfully achieve project objectives.Key Responsibilities
  • Project Initiation: Support the preparation of project briefs, advise on budget, funding, scheduling, and risk management strategies.
  • Project Planning: Conduct feasibility studies, prepare reports, develop project strategies, and establish project programs and schedules.
  • Tendering Process: Prepare tender documentation, manage contractor pre-qualification, evaluate submissions, and provide recommendations.
  • Project Execution: Implement control systems, monitor progress against timelines, manage project meetings, and ensure consistent reporting.
  • Financial Management: Authorise milestone-based payments, monitor project budgets, and assess financial adjustments as necessary.
  • Communication and Coordination: Develop effective communication systems, coordinate stakeholder collaboration, and ensure seamless project execution.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Establish comprehensive QA procedures, implement health and safety protocols, and integrate environmental considerations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with statutory authorities, regulatory bodies, and funding institutions to maintain compliance and reporting standards.
  • Project Closure: Prepare final accounts, manage pre-commissioning and commissioning, oversee handover processes, and compile maintenance manuals.
  • Post-Completion Activities: Organise feedback collection, monitor project outcomes, and conduct post-completion evaluations.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (MQF Level 6) or higher in Project Management. Preference for Construction Project Management qualifications.
  • Experience: Proven experience in construction project management, with strong knowledge of construction processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required; Maltese is an asset.
  • Driving License: A valid driving license, Category B is required.
  • Communication Skills: Strong negotiation, reporting, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with teams, consultants, and contractors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software and construction management tools.
  • Organisation: Exceptional planning, scheduling, and multitasking skills.
  • Self-Motivated: Strong work ethic with the ability to lead by example and maintain high professional standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
