our client is looking for an Engineering Assistant will provide essential technical and administrative support to the Head of Engineering. This position involves assisting engineers in day-to-day tasks such as project management, documentation, research, and equipment handling. The Engineering Assistant will play a critical role in ensuring smooth operation within the engineering department, helping with both technical and logistical tasks.Key Responsibilities:Technical Support:
  • Assist engineers in the preparation, testing, and evaluation of engineering
  • projects.
  • Support engineers in drafting and reviewing technical documents, such as
  • specifications, reports, and designs.
  • Help with the creation and modification of technical drawings and schematics
  • using CAD software.
Project Assistance:
  • Help engineers monitor project timelines and ensure milestones are met.
  • Maintain and update project documentation, including schedules, budgets,
  • and resource allocation.
  • Track and report on project progress and potential issues to the engineering
  • team.
  • Assist with coordinating project activities, meetings, and task assignments.
Equipment & Inventory Management:
  • Help maintain and track the inventory of engineering tools, equipment, and
  • materials.
  • Assist in the preparation, maintenance, and operation of engineering
  • equipment or machinery.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of engineering equipment and
  • materials.
Documentation & Reporting:
  • Assist in the creation and management of engineering documentation,
  • including specifications, manuals, and compliance reports.
  • Support engineers in compiling reports related to project progress, testing
  • outcomes, and quality assessments.
  • Help ensure that all technical documentation is organized, accessible, and up
  • to date.
Administrative Support:
  • Provide administrative assistance, including scheduling meetings, taking
  • minutes, and managing communication between the engineering team and
  • other departments.
  • Assist with coordinating training sessions or workshops for engineering team
  • members.
  • Prepare and process reports, invoices, and other administrative documents.
Compliance & Safety :
  • Help ensure engineering projects meet relevant regulatory and safety standards.
  • Assist with monitoring and enforcing safety protocols on engineering sites.
Requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately with technical data.
  • Ability to multitask, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines.
Education and Experience
  • HND / HTD school diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in an engineering environment, or coursework relevant to engineering, is a plus.
