- Assisting clients with licensing applications and authorisation processes with the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) and other relevant regulatory authorities;
- Supporting clients throughout the regulatory licensing process, including preparation of documentation, regulatory submissions and coordination with authorities;
- Acting as a point of contact between clients and regulatory authorities, addressing queries and facilitating communication;
- Supporting regulated entities in meeting their ongoing regulatory and compliance obligations, particularly in the fintech sector (PSPs, EMIs and service providers in the digital assets space);
- Assisting in the planning and management of regulatory compliance activities in line with applicable legislation and regulatory frameworks;
- Monitoring and interpreting regulatory developments and advising clients on their impact;
- Drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements and regulatory documentation relevant to regulated businesses;
- Providing legal and regulatory support for corporate structuring and restructuring projects involving regulated entities;
- Assisting colleagues across legal, regulatory and corporate services teams on compliance and regulatory matters;
- Managing and maintaining a portfolio of regulated clients;
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal departments;
- Providing ad hoc regulatory and compliance advisory services as required.
- Minimum four (4) years of post-qualification experience in a similar role;
- Holds a Master of Advocacy (M.Adv) or Doctor of Laws (LL.D) or equivalent;
- Has a valid warrant to practice law in Malta;
- Demonstrates interest and experience in regulated industries;
- Experience with MFSA licensing and regulatory frameworks would be considered an asset;
- Exposure to AML/CFT compliance management processes would also be considered beneficial;
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
- Ability to manage workload independently while collaborating effectively within a team;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office tools.
