Then read on!Aon Insurance Managers (ACIM) are seeking a Senior Insurance Executive to join their team in Malta.You will be responsible for the general insurance needs of captive undertakings, protected cell companies’ cells, and (re)insurance companies under management.   • Day-to-day administration duties and senior oversight of all client needs, ensuring that service standards are met for the client base.
  • Co-ordination and active internal and external follow-up to obtain various client-related documentation including Know Your Customer forms, policies, reinsurance agreements, and endorsements.
  • Review and validation of claims, maintaining claim documentation and updated loss registers, identifying issues or delays, and raising where necessary.
  • Reconciliation of claims payments, premiums, and reinsurance recoveries.
  • Building an excellent base of insurance premium taxes (“IPT”) knowledge across territories by coordinating with internal and external collaborators and ensuring accuracy of information in its entirety.
  • Acting as Champion on lead projects to coordinate between internal and external collaborators, under the direction and supervision of senior insurance leadership.
  • Preparation of timely insurance and claims reports for Board and/or Underwriting Committee meetings. Discussing and liaising with the Finance, Risk and Compliance teams with respect to any renewals, invoicing, or claims-related matters.
  • Liaison with Fiscal Representatives on all IPT requirements, ensuring ongoing compliance. Liaison with auditors, providing necessary explanations of insurance structures or policies.
  • Building and maintaining knowledge of captives and PCC (re)insurance matters, acting as a point of reference within the team.
  • Adherence to the Office Procedures Manual, including checklists, supporting documentation, authorisations, sign-offs, and timelines, while finding opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Awareness of and compliance with the Insurance Business Act, subsequent regulations and rules rolled out by the Risk & Compliance team.
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Passporting Regulations and/or General Good Provisions for each territory where a passport is in place.
  • Working on MFSA applications for new clients, or new lines of business for existing clients.
  • Undertaking ad-hoc reports, projects and presentations for clients and internal collaborators, on own initiative and with minimal direct supervision.
  • Supporting senior insurance leadership on operational, coordination and workload-management matters, including identifying capacity constraints, operational risks, and process inefficiencies.
  • Interacting with various collaborators in a professional manner. Primary relationships to be developed and maintained are as follows: Clients, client representatives, Committee members and Board members, External and internal auditors, Actuaries, Insurance/reinsurance brokers, and Insurance/reinsurance companies.
  • N.B. This is not an exhaustive list and it is expected that the Senior Insurance Executive demonstrates ownership, accountability and proactive engagement, while familiarising themselves with and diligently applying the Office Procedures Manual.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Recognised insurance qualification -highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability and proven experience in the insurance industry (preferably in captive management).
  • Strong general knowledge of industry products, regulations, and developments.
  • Comprehensive solid understanding of accountancy, business, and IT software.
