- Supervision and Leadership: Leading and directing the work of a team of construction labourers, ensuring tasks are completed according to schedule and safety standards.
- Assisting with Tasks: Performing various manual labour tasks as needed, such as loading and unloading materials, preparing sites, and assisting skilled tradespeople.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring all workers adhere to safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
- Material Management: Assisting with the organization and distribution of materials on the site.
- Site Preparation: Clearing debris, preparing surfaces, and ensuring the site is safe and ready for work.
- Equipment Operation: Operating basic hand and power tools, as well as some heavy machinery under supervision.
- Communication: Effectively communicating with other team members, foremen, and other site personnel.
- Training and Mentorship: May be involved in training or mentoring less experienced labourers.
- Problem Solving: Identifying and addressing any issues that arise during daily operations.
- Flexible to work shifts, including weekends and night shifts.
- Proven experience as a Construction Team Leader or similar role.
- Fork Lifter Licence.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent record-keeping abilities and proficiency in inventory management software.
- Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment is highly desirable.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items when required.
- A team player with a strong work ethic and reliability.
- Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in logistics or inventory management is a plus.
- Computer literate.
- Valid driving licence.
