- Work closely with engagement management and teams to plan and execute audits in line with professional standards, risk assessments, and engagement objectives.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary day-to-day contact and assessing client satisfaction.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Company's service lines and identify opportunities to apply firm expertise to client needs.
- Monitor engagement progress against plans and timelines, adjusting strategies as required to ensure timely completion.
- Assume a leadership role as the in-charge for audits, overseeing and directing the work performed by junior staff.
- Leverage audit technology tools and firm-standard software to enhance efficiency, quality, and service delivery.
- Take full ownership and accountability for engagement deliverables, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Delegate effectively, monitor performance, and provide ongoing feedback and support to the engagement team, managing and mentoring staff, also identify training needs and supporting continuous professional development.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of client industries and provide value-added insights and recommendations, and review audit work and financial statements for smaller entities within group audits.
- Uphold professional ethics and liability standards, escalating independence, ethical, or conflict matters as required
- 5 + years' experience in an external audit environment, with progressive responsibility.
- Proven experience managing audit engagements from planning through to completion and reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet strict deadlines.
- Must have excellent verbal and communication skills in English
- Being in possession of, or eligible to obtain, a Maltese Auditor's Warrant / Practising Certificate will be considered a strong asset.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
