An established local CSP is looking for a Sr VAT Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will form part of a dynamic team working with a diverse international clientele across various industries, as well as the firm's private clients.This is an office-based role offering a salary of up to €50K, depending on experience.Role & ResponsibilitiesWork closely with Management on the technical aspects of VAT-related work, including contributing to the drafting and enhancement of internal proceduresManage and oversee VAT compliance work carried out by junior team members across a diverse client portfolioHandle complex VAT matters, including advisory work, cross-border VAT implications, sector-specific VAT treatment, and analysis of legislative changesReview VAT returns, VAT recapitulative statements, and related submissionsAssist clients with VAT registrations, deregistrations, and ongoing statutory requirementsLiaise with tax authorities on VAT compliance matters, audits, queries, and investigationsAttend client meetings to discuss VAT positions, compliance requirements, and provide guidanceEducation, Skills & ExperienceFully qualified accountantProfessional qualification or certification in taxation is a plusMinimum of 2 years’ experience working specifically within VAT or indirect taxation in Malta (non-negotiable)Excellent written and spoken EnglishStrong knowledge of VAT legislation, particularly Maltese and EU VAT frameworksProficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS OutlookExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex technical information to clientsHighly organised with a keen eye for detailAbout the RoleSalary up to €50K, depending on experienceOffice-based in VallettaStart date: ASAPOn-the-job trainingOpportunities for career growth and developmentApply with your detailed CV in English.*JobMatchingPartner Limited is a recruitment agency licenced in Malta, EU with licence no EA00340-2024.
