The successful candidate will work with various departments of the Company and the Chief Executive Officer, performing diverse accounting tasks and preparing reports and statistics. Monthly closing activities, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals and recording transactions for the Company and related entities
Produce monthly management accounts and reporting of the Company and related entities
Preparation of annual financial statements for the Company and related entities in IFRS and other GAAPs
Co-ordination with auditors on audits and other engagements
Preparation of statutory and regulatory reporting including the Company’s and related entities MFSA returns and Central Bank returns
Serve as contact for banking relationships, for the Company and other related entities
Support the Head of Finance in overseeing the Company’s client cash accounts, reconciliation, and reporting process
Support the Head of Finance in overseeing the Company’s liquidity management processes and foreign exchange operations
Compile and analyse financial information and summarise financial status to support the business, achieving financial goals and objectives
Assist in departmental budgets and forecasts process, liaising with internal and external stakeholders
Oversee debtors and creditors, ensuring timely collecting and payment, and performing the necessary reconciliations for the Company and other related entities
Preparation of periodic VAT returns for the Company and other related entities
Assist the Head of Finance in overseeing the payroll of the Company in adherence to the Company’s remuneration principles
Ensure corporate tax compliance of the Company and other related entities
Assist in the production of group management accounts and group budgets
Assist in maintaining a robust control environment, providing mitigation and minimization of risks of fraud and error in the books
Assist in automation and optimization of the accounting process
Keeping abreast with relevant changes in international accounting standards, best practice and regulations

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Fluent English. Other languages will be considered an asset
A team player, capable of leading in a fast-paced environment maintaining accuracy and quality
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deal efficiently with different internal departments and external counterparts
Ability to build relationships effectively, both in the immediate team and wider business
Attention to detail and the ability to assess potential legal and compliance risks
Display honesty, integrity and trustworthiness
Experience Minimum 4 years’ experience as an Auditor or Accountant in an international commercial environment
CPA-certification will be considered an assert
Knowledge Bachelor degree in Accounting or ACCA qualification
Technical knowledge of IFRS and other types of GAAP
Knowledge of local tax and VAT regulations
Experience and knowledge in consolidations would be advantageous
