Serve and assist customers, operate POS and handle cash, restock and rotate products, maintain store cleanliness, receive and check deliveries, report issues, and support shop opening and closing procedures.Job Description Main Tasks to be Performed by the Employee Serve and assist customers in a polite and professional manner. Operate the POS system and handle cash transactions accurately. Restock shelves, rotate products, and maintain store cleanliness. Assist in receiving, checking, and storing deliveries. Report stock discrepancies, customer issues, or irregularities to management. Support the opening and closing procedures of the shop as required. Mandatory Competencies – Shop Assistant Customer Service Skills Ability to interact politely and professionally with customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience. Cash Handling & POS Operation Competence in operating the point-of-sale system and processing payments accurately. Numeracy & Basic Literacy Ability to handle transactions, count cash, and read labels, receipts, and instructions reliably. Stock Management Support. Other Competencies – Shop Assistant Previous Retail Experience Experience in grocery, minimarket, or retail environments, especially with customer-facing roles. Merchandising & Visual Display Skills Ability to arrange shelves and promotional displays to maximise product visibility and sales.
