Our client is looking for a qualified or semi-qualified Accounts Team Lead to lead and supervise a team of accounting clerks. This is a key position in the finance department, ideal for a highly organised professional with strong attention to detail and proven team leadership skills.What you'll be doing

Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of unqualified accounting clerks
Review and verify clerks' posting of daily transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance
Ensure correct classification and posting of invoices, payments, receipts, journals, and other financial entries
Perform regular checks and reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial data
Provide training, guidance, and support to clerks to improve efficiency and accuracy
Collaborate with the Finance Manager on process improvements and reporting requirements
Assist with month-end closing tasks and other accounting duties as needed

Requirements

Fully Qualified or semi-qualified accountant
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
Local work experience in reviewing or supervising junior accounting staff is a plus
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
