OverviewAbout the DepartmentThe regulation and supervision of company service providers fall within the remit of the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), which has a dedicated function tasked with the authorisation and ongoing oversight of such entities. This function's primary objective is to ensure that company service providers maintain appropriate governance structures, internal systems, and controls to adequately serve their clients, while safeguarding both their own reputation and that of the country, in line with Malta's international obligations. Supervision is carried out through a combination of tools, including both onsite inspections and offsite monitoring and assessments.About the RoleWithin this role you will be joining the Company Service Providers Supervision Function.Your work will include any of the following tasks aimed at verifying that company service providers are meeting the requirements of the Company Services Providers Act and the relevant rules and regulations issued thereunder, as applicable:
Supporting the Head of Company Service Providers Supervision in the general management of the function and MFSA wide projects;
Actively contributing to the function's workplan by overseeing, monitoring, and reporting on workstreams;
Coordinating the allocation of resources together with senior management;
Attending meetings with authorised persons;
Providing guidance and leadership to staff within the function and to support other team leaders;
Representing the MFSA in engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including representation on any Standing Committees/Working Groups relating to the CSP sector;
Acting as a source of technical expertise regarding the requirements applicable to Company Service Providers and in relation to the determination of complex regulatory issues;
Carrying out ad hoc assignments related to specific regulatory and supervisory issues that may arise from time to time and to report on the outcome of such assignments as may be appropriate; and
Undertaking any other tasks as delegated by senior management in line with the exigencies of the Function.
About YouWe are looking for candidates who are eager to join an enthusiastic team with a passion for compliance. You should have a solid academic background in Law, Banking & Finance or any other related area, to increase the current pool of internal expertise in the Company Service Providers Supervision Function. Experience or background knowledge related to company service providers will be considered as an asset for this role.The role calls for an academic qualification in a relevant field of study at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level, and at least six (6) years working experience within the company service providers area in a senior role.If you do not have the necessary academic qualifications or experience but you have at least ten (10) years or relevant working experience within a senior level, we would still be interested in speaking with you.The ideal applicant should demonstrate the following skills/experience:
Self-driven and ability to meet deadlines;
Interest in financial services;
Attention to detail and strive for quality and accuracy of the work;
Excellent time management skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities as may be necessary;
Ability to maintain good working relationships with other team players and with the industry in general; and
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
