- Provide legal advice on data protection issues across policy issuance, claims, digital platforms, and data sharing with brokers and reinsurers
- Draft and negotiate data processing agreements, data-sharing contracts, vendor privacy clauses, and cross-border transfer terms
- Ensure consent, profiling, and automated decision-making compliance under GDPR and local privacy laws
- Advise on international data flows involving reinsurers, TPAs, processors, and service providers
- Advise on life, non-life, and reinsurance products; draft and negotiate policies, distribution agreements, broker contracts, and reinsurance treaties
- Support complex claims handling, coverage disputes, litigation strategy, and engagement with external counsel
- Guide compliance with solvency, consumer protection, and conduct of business requirements; liaise with regulators as needed
- Partner with underwriting and product teams to assess legal risk in product design, wording, and marketing materials
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments; brief senior management and drive timely updates to policies and controls
- LL.B. or equivalent; admission to the Bar in a relevant jurisdiction
- At least 5 years in data protection/privacy law, preferably within insurance/financial services; minimum 5 years PQE in insurance law (in-house or law firm)
- Strong knowledge of GDPR and other regional frameworks (e.g., CCPA), with practical experience in insurance data practices (underwriting, claims, telematics)
- Excellent drafting and negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and ability to balance business needs with compliance
- Experience in multinational insurance organizations is preferred
- CIPP/E, CIPM, or similar privacy qualifications
- Strong understanding of technology, cybersecurity, and data governance
- Proven experience with international data transfers and multi-jurisdictional insurance operations
