Our client is currently seeking an IT Infrastructure & Systems Administrator to support and evolve a modern hybrid IT environment. This role sits at the heart of the organisation's technology operations, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of core systems across on-prem infrastructure and cloud services.You'll work closely with Infrastructure, Support, DevOps, and Cybersecurity teams, playing a key role in keeping critical systems running smoothly.This opportunity is well suited to someone with strong technical foundations who wants to continue developing across infrastructure, cloud, and security within a collaborative and supportive environment.The Role:Infrastructure & Systems:

Maintain and patch Windows Server environments
Support SQL Server platforms, including backups and performance monitoring
Manage virtual machines and storage systems
Assist with Azure AD Connect and hybrid integrations
Maintain accurate infrastructure and asset documentation

Cloud & Microsoft Services:

Support administration of Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, and Intune
Assist with provisioning and configuration of Azure resources (VMs, storage, networking)
Contribute to cloud optimisation and improvement initiatives

Backup & Disaster Recovery:

Monitor, test, and document backups for VMs, SQL, and storage systems
Support disaster recovery procedures and readiness

Server Room & Physical Infrastructure:

Assist with server room maintenance, cabling, and equipment layout
Perform routine checks on cooling, power, and environmental controls

Support & Collaboration:

Handle escalations from 1st and 2nd Line Support related to infrastructure
Contribute to internal documentation and knowledge base articles
Support security incidents and investigations when required

Monitoring, Performance & Governance:

Use monitoring tools (e.g. PRTG, Azure Monitor) to track system health
Assist with performance tuning, capacity planning, and vulnerability remediation
Follow change control procedures and infrastructure best practices
Use Group Policy, Intune, and PowerShell to ensure configuration consistency
Support compliance, audit preparation, and documentation efforts

Clear communication and teamwork come naturally to you, and you're motivated to keep learning and growing your technical skill set.Requirements:

Experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or an advanced IT support role
Solid understanding of Windows Server, virtualisation technologies, and networking fundamentals
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure services, and Active Directory
Experience with backup solutions (e.g. Veeam) is an advantage
SQL Server, firewall, or Intune experience is considered a plus
Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn new technologies
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional IT teams and stakeholders
