- You will ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and provides high-quality legal guidance across a broad range of matters.
- Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating contracts, managing disputes, overseeing external legal advisors, and controlling the legal budget.
- The role also involves preparing legal and risk reports for senior management and board committees and keeping leadership informed about legislative developments.
- From a governance perspective, the Head of Legal oversees corporate governance practices, internal controls, Solvency II requirements, and regulatory compliance, while maintaining strong relationships with regulators and industry bodies.
- The position promotes a culture of ethics, transparency, and compliance throughout the organisation.
- Candidates must hold a Law degree with a Maltese practicing warrant, have relevant experience in financial services (insurance preferred), and demonstrate strong leadership, commercial awareness, integrity, and communication skills.
