This role is ideal for an experienced economist with a strong understanding of the Maltese economy, who is capable of translating complex economic analysis into clear insights for policymakers, regulators, and private sector leaders.The successful candidate will play a key role in managing economic analysis engagements, developing client relationships, and contributing to the continued growth of our Economics Advisory offering.You will work on high-profile assignments across the public and private sectors, including economic strategy, impact assessments, sector studies, and policy advisory.ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will contribute to and manage engagements including:Socio-economic impact assessments and economic contribution analysisCost-benefit analysis and investment appraisalEconomic strategy development and policy advisoryMacroeconomic and sectoral modellingEconometric analysis and advanced data modellingIndustry and market economic studiesStrategic advisory for government entities, regulators, and private sector organisationsIn addition, the role will involve:

Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of the Maltese economy, its key sectors, policy landscape, and emerging economic trends
Building and nurturing relationships with clients, policymakers, and industry stakeholders
Supporting and leading business development initiatives, including identifying opportunities, developing proposals, and contributing to go-to-market strategies
Managing and mentoring junior economists and analysts within the team
Designing analytical frameworks and overseeing complex economic modelling exercises
Translating complex economic models and large datasets into clear, practical insights for decision-makers
Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across our global network

RequirementsMaster's Degree in Economics with strong quantitative focus5+ years of relevant experience, ideally within consulting, advisory, research institutions, or economic policy environmentsStrong understanding of the Maltese economic landscape, including its key sectors, policy framework, and macroeconomic dynamicsDemonstrated ability to build professional networks and develop client relationshipsExperience in business development and proposal preparationAdvanced quantitative and analytical skills, including econometrics and large dataset analysisStrong command of statistical/econometric software such as R, Stata, Python, or EViewsExcellent use of MS Excel and data analytics toolsProven ability to explain complex economic models and analytical findings in clear, accessible languageExceptional attention to detail, diligence, and analytical rigourAbility to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, supporting both local and international engagementsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWhat We Offer
