JobMatchingPartner is assisting an MFSA-licensed bank based in Malta to find a Chief Operating Officer to join their team.As a COO, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight across all core operational functions, ensuring efficient, compliant, and customer-focused service delivery.The role is office-based, with a salary of up to €125K + an benefits package.Role & ResponsibilitiesLead the bank’s overall operational function, ensuring effective and consistent delivery across all areasEnsure full compliance with MFSA requirements and applicable EU banking regulations across operationsSupport the bank’s digitalisation agenda by introducing and embedding modern technologies, automation, and digital solutionsDevelop and maintain operational plans that support the organisation’s strategic objectivesPromote a culture of continuous improvement, regularly reviewing and enhancing processes and workflowsWork closely with the CEO and senior leadership team on the execution of business prioritiesOversee operational risk management, ensuring appropriate controls and business continuity measures are in placeEncourage effective collaboration between teams to support smooth day-to-day operationsMonitor operational performance through KPIs, reporting, and analysis to support decision-makingLead and support organisational change initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption of new systems and processesEducation, Skills & ExperienceProven senior leadership experience within banking or financial services operations in MaltaStrong understanding of MFSA requirements and EU regulatory frameworksExcellent communication skills in English both written and verbalExperience in digital transformation or operational improvement initiativesStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAnalytical mindset with the ability to improve operational performanceExperience managing complex, regulated environmentsStrong leadership and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work across teamsAbout this roleSalary around €125KOffice Based in SliemaAttractive benefits package offeredNote: This role requires prior operational experience in Malta within a regulated banking or financial services environment.
