- Lead the development, negotiation, and administration of high-value contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Provide strategic guidance on FIDIC, NEC, JCT, and bespoke contract forms, ensuring robust risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the compliance of contractual documentation, including claims, variations, and dispute resolution processes.
- Ensure compliance with European public procurement directives, local regulations, and international best practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of contract management policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and cost control
- Oversee and execute end-to-end procurement processes for technical goods, services, and large-scale construction projects.
- Assist in the development of procurement strategies that align with business objectives, focusing on value engineering and lifecycle cost analysis.
- Manage supplier pre-qualification, bid evaluation, and contract award processes in compliance with EU procurement rules.
- Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to drive competitive pricing and supplier performance.
- Ensure ethical procurement practices, including sustainable sourcing and adherence to ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement Standards.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual and procurement risks throughout project lifecycles.
- Maintain compliance with international procurement regulations, including the European Public Procurement Directive (2014/24/EU).
- Manage contract claims, disputes, and litigation processes, liaising with legal teams as necessary.
- Assist in the development of internal governance frameworks for procurement and contract administration.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead negotiations with vendors to ensure favourable commercial terms while maintaining service quality and delivery standards.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, legal, and project teams to align procurement and contract strategies with broader business objectives.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, Engineering, Business, or Procurement & Supply Chain Management.
- Professional certification from recognized institutions would be considered an asset:
- MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or FRICS (Fellow of RICS)
- MCIPS (Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) preferred.
- LLM in Construction Law or Procurement Law (considered as a strong asset).
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in contract management and technical procurement, ideally within infrastructure, construction, or large-scale engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, JCT, and other international or bespoke contract frameworks.
- Experience working on projects subject to EU public procurement regulations.
- Proven expertise in dispute resolution, claims management, and contract negotiations.
- Proficiency in ERP procurement systems (Microsoft NAV, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and contract management tools.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Exceptional commercial acumen and contract risk management expertise.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage multiple contracts concurrently.
- High-level strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
