In collaboration with our Client, Heroix is seeking a dedicated legal professional to join a prominent legal practice within the employment law sector. This role involves delivering high-level counsel on a variety of workplace-related legal matters, ranging from regulatory adherence to complex dispute resolution. The successful candidate will play a pivotal part in representing a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring their operations remain compliant with evolving labour legislation while managing both judicial and extra-judicial proceedings.Key Responsibilities
- Legal Advisory: Providing comprehensive guidance and strategic support to a broad range of clients regarding their legal obligations and rights.
- Documentation and Drafting: Crafting and meticulously examining workplace policies, staff handbooks, and service agreements to ensure they meet current standards.
- Litigation and Representation: Attending sessions at the Industrial Tribunal and superior courts to manage contentious matters and facilitate effective conflict resolution.
- Regulatory Compliance: Supervising technical assessments such as salary benchmarking and equal pay audits to ensure organisational fairness.
- Internal Collaboration: Working alongside senior partners and cross-departmental teams to provide holistic legal solutions on multifaceted projects.
- Education: A Bachelor of Laws degree and a professional warrant is essential. A Master’s degree (LL.M.) or specialised focus in areas such as data privacy or health and safety would be highly advantageous.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience, gained either within a private practice environment or as an internal legal advisor.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of both Maltese and English is required to succeed in this role.
- Communication Skills: Highly developed verbal and written abilities, with the capacity to explain complex legal concepts clearly to various stakeholders.
- Interpersonal Skills: A collaborative professional who can integrate seamlessly into a team while building strong, trust-based relationships with clients.
- Technical Skills: A deep understanding of industrial relations and a functional grasp of employment-related statutes and case law.
