Join our dynamic team that values collaboration, continuous learning, and personal growth.Roles & Responsibilities:The health care assistant assists the nursing team on the wards to provide exemplary care in a variety of hospital settings.· Undertake routine tasks related to individual’s health and well-being.· Assist in the delivery of care to meet individuals’ health and wellbeing needs· Establish and maintain communication with people on routine care matters· Contribute to own personal development· Assist in maintaining own and others’ health and safety and security· Assist in maintaining and developing services· Ensure own actions help to maintain quality· Ensure own actions support equality, diversity and rights· Routine tasks related to the individual’s health and well being· Correctly undertakes assessment tasks* that have been delegated in relation to the specific individual as agreed with the Head of Department· Obtain consent from individuals before starting the tasks/activities*· Washing and other personal hygiene activities such as bathing· Contribute to the management of client continence· Assisting patients during moving and handling· Assisting patients to mobilise and or achieve physical comfort· Assisting patients to eat and drink· Feeding a patient via naso-gastric tube· Contribute to the care of the deceased· Supply and maintain equipment· Receive, transmit, store and retrieve information· Contribute to the effectiveness of work teams· Undertake basic observations of patients’ ‘vital signs’*· Antiseptic Technique· Bandaging· Care of Sluice / Kitchen· Collection of blood results/X-rays· Emptying of urine bag· Feeding a patient via naso-gastric tube· Neurological observations· Oxygen therapy – via face mask, nasal prongs· Preparing files for operations and rooms· Providing catheter care· Specimen collection· Stores order/input in computer· Topping up of treatment/patients’ room/tidying up linen trolleyOther responsibilites:· Obtain consent from patients before starting the care programme· Respect patients’ privacy, dignity, wishes and beliefs and minimise any necessary discomfort· Prepare patient, self, equipment and materials appropriately for the activity* to be undertaken· Supports patients throughout encouraging them to promote their own health and well being· Undertake tasks/activities* as delegated and taught for that specific patient working within level of competence (e.g.: escort the patient to any other department as instructed by nursing staff)· Priorities attention to patients, alerting the team when there are changes in the individuals’ health and wellbeing or any possible risksRequired Knowledge, Abilities & Skills:
