Job Overview:The Commis Chef is an entry-level position in the kitchen responsible for assisting with basic food preparation tasks and maintaining high standards of hygiene and organization. This role provides a foundation for developing culinary skills and gaining experience working in a professional kitchen under the guidance of more senior chefs.Key Responsibilities:Assist in the preparation and cooking of food under the supervision of senior chefsMaintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstationsMeasure, prepare, and organize ingredients as directedFollow recipes and presentation standardsEnsure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulationsSupport the kitchen team with daily tasks and cleaning dutiesStore ingredients and food items properlyAssist with receiving and checking deliveriesLearn and develop culinary techniques and kitchen proceduresRequirements:Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygieneWillingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen environmentAbility to follow instructions and work well in a teamFlexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysHigh school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or certification is a plusPrevious experience in a kitchen (even as a trainee or intern) is beneficial but not required
