Reporting to: CTOWe are seeking a pragmatic Software Architect with a deep background in high-volume distributed systems to lead the technical evolution of a gaming and sportsbook platforms. You are a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, balancing long-term architectural health with the immediate scalability demands of a global, real-time betting ecosystem.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the architectural roadmap across casino, sportsbook, and game studio, including legacy modernization and real-time pipeline design.Architect high-availability systems for financial transactions and massive traffic spikes using caching, auto-scaling, and disaster recovery.Align cross-functional teams on standards, mentor engineers, and maintain high-quality ADR documentation.Define security architecture (Auth, API protection) and oversee observability and production troubleshooting.What You Bring8+ years building high-volume distributed systems, with 3+ years in a Software Architect or Principal role.Expertise in backend engineering (Node, Java, Go, or PHP), relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), and Redis.Deep experience with AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).Mastery of microservices, event-driven systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ), and WebSockets.A pragmatic, English-speaking problem solver comfortable in fast-moving environments.Nice to HaveExperience in iGaming, Sportsbook, or Fintech (Wallets, Odds, or Bonus engines).Knowledge of PCI-DSS or gaming regulatory standards.Experience with multi-region cloud deployments.Why Join Us?The chance to make a tangible impact in a rapidly growing, global company.A culture that rewards ambition, innovation, and collaboration.Comprehensive benefits package for Malta-based employees, including:Private health insurance, wellness allowance, and communication allowance.Healthy lunch on Wednesdays, Social Fridays, and Summer & Christmas events.Employee discounts in restaurants and businesses.Extended second-parent leave policy.Private parking space.
