Responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various surfaces to enhance their appearance, protect them from damage, and ensure long-lasting durability. The job of a painter may vary depending on the industry or specific type of painting.A painter is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This includes walls, ceilings, floors, doors, windows, fences, and other architectural or decorative elements. The painter ensures high-quality finishes and follows safety and industry standards.ProfilesCompetencies

Identify kind of surface (brickwork, plaster, wood, metal, plastic...); check its condition (defects, damage...)
Arrange/secure construction site by installing scaffolds, fall protection, safety lines, storage place for equipment
Prepare product (quantity, colour variation, mixture...). Set equipment
Prepare surface to be coated and apply filler, primer...
Mark out and apply markings or masking on surfaces to be painted (templates, stickers...)
Prepare and glue wall covering
Prepare paint
Apply product: paint
Apply product: varnish
Place prefabricated elements in stucco, plaster...
Perform paint techniques: wall distempering
