The role exists to secure accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthen the internal control environment, support group consolidation, and contribute to operational excellence through strong analytical capabilities and deep IFRS expertise.What you'll be doingOversee financial controlling activities primarily but not only for the Maltese legal entities, ensuring compliance with both local and group reporting requirements.Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.Support the group consolidation process by preparing high-quality reporting packages and analysis.Maintain and continuously enhance a robust internal control framework that mitigates financial and operational risks across Gentoo MediaImplement and enforce accounting policies and procedures to uphold financial integrity and operational efficiencyProvide strong technical accounting insights, including IFRS guidance and impact assessments for new standards or business transactionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes, systems, and reporting qualityPrepare ad-hoc analysis, management reports, and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making.Who we're looking forBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related fieldA recognized accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) is preferred but not requiredMinimum 5-7 years of experience in financial controlling, audit, or similar rolesExperience in a multinational environment or media/technology industry is an advantageProven track record working with IFRS and complex reporting structuresKnowledge in Maltese tax Technical SkillsStrong IFRS knowledge and ability to apply standards to practical business scenariosAdvanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting toolsExperience with ERP systems; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is preferred but not requiredStrong understanding of internal controls, financial processes, and consolidation principlesStrong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilityExcellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlinesClear and concise communication skills, both written and verbalExcellent English communication skilsroactive, self-driven, and able to work independently as well as collaborativelyHigh integrity and a commitment to maintaining financial accuracy and compliance.What we're offering:At Gentoo Media, we’re redefining affiliate marketing in iGaming - and we know that great work starts with great people.
