The successful candidate will play a key role in managing tax compliance, supporting advisory engagements, and providing high-quality technical input across direct and indirect tax matters, while also contributing to broader accounting and reporting responsibilities, in accordance with the Bank's policies and procedures, and in compliance with international accounting standards and tax regulations. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, handling complex accounting and tax matters and looking to advance their career within the banking sector.Duties and Responsibilities:

Managing and reviewing tax compliance obligations, including income tax, VAT, and other statutory filings
Support with tax and VAT refund applications and other tax-related matters
Support month-end accounting procedures, ledger and bank reconciliations
Prepare and review monthly consolidated accounts and variance analysis
Liaising with tax authorities, auditors, and external advisors
Assist with internal and external audits and reviews, including data collection, issue investigation, responses and walk-throughs
Preparation of financial and tax information for management, external auditors, regulators, tax authorities, group entities and stakeholders, including disclosures for the published accounts.
Ensuring ongoing compliance with local tax legislation, accounting standards and timely submission to the authorities
Contributing to process improvements and internal controls within the finance function
Document procedures, policies, external guidance, and controls related to the accounting function
Perform general administrative duties as necessary
Staying adjourned and adhering to the latest AML/CFT policies and procedures.

Qualifications and skills:

An accounting qualification such as a Masters in Accounting, ACCA or equivalent
A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a senior accounting role with strong exposure to tax matters
Sound knowledge of local tax legislation and accounting standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office applications
