- Generating monthly management information reports promptly and reliably.
- Establishing and overseeing a centralized accounting system for effective financial management.
- Investigating budget variances, and providing detailed analysis of discrepancies.
- Managing month-end processes for Accounts Payable, VAT, and the general ledger in the finance system.
- Ensuring the meticulous vetting, verification, and authorization of invoices and requests for Agency personnel.
- Preparing monthly reconciliations and analyses of Agency payroll.
- Handling monthly VAT claims and assisting in Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting various functions within the accounting team and contributing to the monthly preparation of Management Accounts.
- Developing and maintaining the fixed asset register, including depreciation.
- Reviewing and evaluating training activities within the department, identifying opportunities for service enhancements.
- Monitoring changes in the financial environment, delivering results within tight deadlines.
- Staying updated on the latest trends and innovations in the hospitality industry.
- Proactively identifying opportunities to improve department profitability through waste control and resource efficiency.
- Taking a proactive approach to Accounting activities, anticipating potential opportunities.
- Maintaining effective communication within the department and promptly reports problems or complaints to the Accountant.
- Attending required department training sessions and meetings.
- Collaborating with other departments, ensuring good communication and offering support.
- Providing support to the hotel operation during periods of high demand.
- Fully or Partly Qualified Accountant
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position
- Familiarity with the hospitality industry is considered an asset
- Experience enforcing internal controls and associated policies and procedures
- Experience in interpreting and reporting financial information
- Experience with Accounting and POS software (preferably SUN Accounts, Micros-Fidelio Materials Control and Opera, Micros F&B and Concept)
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working with Microsoft Officer stack, specifically Word and Excel
- Meticulous and attentive to detail
- Conscientious and problem-solving approach
