- Carrying out legal research on topics related to trustees and other fiduciary services;
- Ongoing monitoring of new developing legislation;
- Preparing and coordinating responses with regards to European institutions’ legislative proposals and technical standards, as well as eventual transposition into Maltese legislation
- Taking the lead on drafting of legislation, regulations and rules relating to trustees and fiduciary service providers, including legislative changes arising from EU legislation or international standards;
- The development of legislation relating to trustees and other fiduciary service providers, to address market developments in these sectors, including, the preparation of consultation papers and feedback statements to the market;
- Providing technical guidance with compliance issues emanating from the ongoing supervision process of licensed trustees and other fiduciary service providers;
- Drafting of circulars, guidance notes, FAQs and other technical documentation relating to trustees and fiduciaries;
- Providing technical support, legal expertise and input in the context of any reports, technical papers etc prepared by the Authority, in relation to the trustees and fiduciaries sector;
- Providing technical support and legal expertise in preparation and reviewing of internal memos to MFSA’s decision making bodies, which require such expertise;
- Drafting of/updating internal procedures;
- Attending any sittings of the court, tribunal or specialised body, and/or supporting other team members, to provide testimony present on behalf of the Trustees Supervision Function;
- Attending and participating in any internal/external working groups, representing the MFSA and/or the Trustees Supervision Function and assist with the analysis and preparation of comments on documents discussed in various Working Groups, Transposition Workshops and Task Forces ;
- Handling meetings and workstreams with other functions, authorities and any other relevant stakeholders to ensure collaboration for shared goals;
- Being a source of technical expertise on the regulatory requirements applicable to Trustees and other fiduciaries;
- Possible involvement in on-site compliance inspections and supervisory meetings carried out by the Trustees Supervision Function;
- Possible involvement in processes and workstreams relating to authorisation and offsite supervision workstreams;
- Supervise more junior staff as may be required;
- Carry out other ad-hoc activities as may be determined, such as participation in projects; and
- Undertaking such other tasks as may be directed from time to time by the Head and/or the senior leadership team.

- Highly organised;
- Strong legal drafting skills;
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other team members and with the industry in general; and
