• Lead and mentor junior team members; review their work and support them with technical accounting queries.
• Manage your own client portfolio, including preparation of management accounts and coordination of annual audits.
• Prepare and submit VAT Returns for your clients and review VAT work completed by the team.
• Ensure all accounting tasks and statutory filings for your portfolio and the team's portfolio meet deadlines and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with management on client needs and contribute to improving service quality.
• Review financial statements, including complex disclosures.
• Support compliance monitoring within the accounting department.
• Promote internal procedures and best practices; identify training needs and help deliver training sessions.
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather information for accounts and statutory returns.
• Escalate significant accounting matters to management.
• Assist management in ensuring all team deadlines (VAT, accounts, tax) are met.
• Contribute to business development by supporting client meetings and discussing service offerings.

• At least 2 years' senior experience in a client accounting environment.
• Fully qualified accountant (recognised qualification).
• Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word and SAGE.
• Excellent written and spoken English; strong communication skills.
• High ethical standards when handling sensitive financial information.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong technical knowledge of client accounting and VAT.
• Highly organised, strong problem-solving skills and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Eager to learn, adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic, social environment.
• Team-oriented, proactive and detail-focused.
