Consultant - Financial Services Regulation

• Strategic Practice Growth: Leading the development and expansion of the firm's dedicated division focused on digital finance and pioneering technological legal solutions.
• Regulatory Advisory: Providing expert guidance on the implementation of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) and overseeing the authorisation processes for digital asset service providers.
• Compliance Frameworks: Delivering sophisticated advice regarding MFSA protocols, including internal governance, prudential obligations, and third-party outsourcing risks for electronic money and payment institutions.
• Transactional Structuring: Assisting with the architectural design and launch of cross-border digital asset initiatives, ensuring full alignment with evolving European Union directives.
• Market Representation: Serving as a primary ambassador for the Business within the fintech community, including contributing to industry consultations, authoring specialist insights, and representing the firm at international forums.

• Education: Possession of a professional legal qualification or equivalent high-level certification relevant to the financial services sector.
• Experience: Extensive professional background in financial regulation, specifically with a track record of handling matters involving fintech, virtual assets, or electronic payment systems.
• Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
• Communication Skills: Highly developed ability to convey complex regulatory concepts to diverse stakeholders and produce high-calibre technical documentation.
• Interpersonal Skills: Proven capacity for high-level client engagement and the ability to foster strong, trust-based relationships with international investors and local regulators.
• Technical Skills: Deep familiarity with the modern regulatory ecosystem, including DORA, MiFID II, and various payment service directives, alongside an understanding of blockchain and tokenisation.
• Organisation: Strong ability to manage a sophisticated portfolio of projects and lead a team in a fast-paced, high-stakes legal environment.
