- Assist the Technical Manager with inspections and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical systems onboard our vessels, including engines, generators, pumps, and other equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and assist mechanics with repairs.
- Assist with the maintenance of accurate records of all maintenance and repair works performed.
- Assist in the training of mechanics and other crew members in the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
- Assist in the development of modifications and mechanical upgrades.
- Coordinating with the purchasing team to ensure correct parts are ordered in an efficient manner.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures, maintaining logs and vessel related documents.
- Assisting with other ad hoc reporting as needed.
- Formal education in Mechanical Engineering or a related field would be considered an asset.
- Hands on experience on board vessels would be ideal.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems on board vessels is required. A basic knowledge of electrical systems would be beneficial.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
