- advising clients on Maltese and EU financial services regulation applicable to investment firms, collective investment schemes, financial institutions, crypto-asset service providers, and other financial services operators;
- assisting with the structuring of operational set-ups, and MFSA authorisation processes;
- supporting clients on ongoing regulatory compliance matters, including the preparation and review of internal policies and procedures, governance frameworks, and regulatory submissions;
- advising on technology driven regulatory requirements, including ICT risk management, outsourcing, and third party arrangements; and
- monitoring legal and regulatory developments in the fintech, reg tech and digital resilience space, and contributing to legal updates and internal knowledge initiatives.
- 2 - 3 years' working experience in financial services legal or regulatory advisory work;
- a law degree; qualification as a Maltese lawyer would be considered an asset, though experienced regulatory advisors are equally encouraged to apply;
- prior experience advising on DORA and/or ICT related regulatory frameworks would be considered an asset, however is not mandatory;
- a solid understanding of EU financial services regulation and familiarity with regulatory interaction, particularly with the Malta Financial Services Authority;
- strong drafting, analytical and organisational skills, with a careful and methodical approach to regulatory work;
- the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; and
- excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of Maltese would be considered an asset.
