As part of our continued development and expansion, we are seeking to recruit a Tax Assistant to join our Tax/Accounting team. The selected candidate will be gaining invaluable experience within the growing organization.Role and Responsibilities: · Assisting in the Tax Compliance function on jobs relating to tax computations, income tax returns, and other related tax work; · Assisting the Tax Advisory function as required; · Assisting and working with other internal teams; · Assisting with presentations, newsletters, and other material for distribution. Requirements: · Interested in pursuing or currently in the initial stages of the ACCA Qualification. · Interest and aptitude for tax matters. · Interested in pursuing the MIT Course on Tax Compliance or related courses. · No relevant experience is required. · A positive attitude and an efficient team player; · Responsible, motivated, and have an eye for detail.ProfilesIf multiple Education and Language Profiles are defined, please note that you must fit at least one of them, but not necessarily all.PROFILE 1LanguageReadingSpeakingUnderstandingWritingMALTESEENGLISHCompetencies

Draw up and execute statutory tax and social security declarations
Code and enter invoices, bank statements, pieces of evidence. Perform verification check on bank accounts
Check tax payer files and returns. Calculate amount of tax payable
Handle files, follow-up disputes of private persons or companies (investigating the balance, exemption procedure...)
Plan or execute audits of accounts in companies. Provide expertise on tax regulations
Inform taxpayers and advise them on tax operations (tax returns, duties...)
