A dynamic and expanding financial institution, regulated by the MFSA and based in Malta, is urgently seeking a Regulatory Compliance Officer (Advocate) to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company operates in full alignment with Maltese and EU Laws.This is an office-based role offering a salary of up to €50K, depending on experience.Role & ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with Maltese and EU banking regulations, including the Banking Act and MFSA rulesSupport the development and implementation of internal policies and proceduresImplement and oversee a compliance monitoring programme for banking and AML/CFT requirementsConduct risk assessments and ensure timely regulatory submissions to the MFSA and FIAUManage AML/CFT compliance, covering customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, and reporting of suspicious activityLiaise with the MFSA on regulatory inspections, supervisory reviews, and related correspondencePrepare regulatory submissions, respond to supervisory findings, and put together remediation plansCollaborate with risk management, internal audit, legal, and other departments to promote a unified approach to complianceDeliver regular compliance training and keep staff informed on regulatory requirementsEducation, Skills & ExperienceWarranted Advocate in Malta with 3+ years of regulatory compliance experience in banking or financial servicesExcellent communication skills in English both written and spokenStrong knowledge of Maltese and EU financial services legislation, including AML/CFT frameworks and prudential requirementsExperience dealing with regulatory bodies such as the MFSA and FIAUProven ability to interpret complex regulations and turn them into practical internal controlsStrong analytical, communication, and drafting skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and regulatorsA proactive, detail-oriented mindset with strong ethical judgement and the ability to work independently and within a teamAbout the RoleSalary of up to €50K, depending on experienceOffice-based in Sliema, MaltaMust be based in Malta with a valid work permitApply with your detailed CV in English.*JobMatchingPartner Limited is a recruitment agency licenced in Malta, EU with licence no EA00340-2024.
