The Group CFO will be a pivotal part of the Senior Leadership Team, providing strategic direction and financial oversight across a multi-brand business. This leadership role will drive financial performance, promote operational excellence, and ensure robust corporate governance across the Group’s retail, F&B, and hospitality operations. The CFO will also play a key role in evaluating growth initiatives and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders.Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Guide financial strategy in alignment with business goals, advising the CEO and Board on financial planning and performance.
- Reporting and Analysis: Lead the preparation of detailed financial reports and forecasts that highlight key performance trends.
- Cash and Capital Management: Oversee liquidity planning, capital allocation, and cash flow optimisation across all business units.
- Team Development: Direct and inspire the finance team, encouraging collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional development.
- Budgeting and Planning: Coordinate budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all entities.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure strict adherence to fiscal obligations and maintain strong internal governance frameworks.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Manage critical relationships with auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
- System Oversight: Strengthen financial systems, internal controls, and process efficiency, including payroll, invoicing, and reporting functions.
- Board Reporting: Present financial insights and commercial recommendations at Board and executive meetings.
- Regulatory Awareness: Stay informed of developments in financial regulation and tax law, ensuring business readiness.
- Technology Leadership: Oversee the Group’s IT operations to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and data security protocols.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and assess business unit performance using key metrics and KPIs.
- Education: Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent). A Master’s degree in Finance or Accountancy is considered an asset.
- Experience: At least 10 years of senior finance leadership experience, ideally within a group structure covering hospitality, F&B, or retail sectors.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
- Communication Skills: Strong communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative and approachable, with a talent for building trust and effective relationships.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial software; familiarity with Shireburn, Opera PMS, and Simphony is advantageous.
- Organisation: Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Self-Motivated: Driven, proactive, and results-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a capability to interpret complex data and develop practical solutions.
