The purpose of an Electrician is to perform skilled electrical work, ensuring the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems meet safety, efficiency, and quality standards.Duties & Key Responsibilities: - Installation of brackets for cable trunking and cable tray - Installation of cable ladder, cable tray, cable basket and cable trunking - Installation of both metal and plastic trunking - Marking-out and installation of conduit, both PVC and metal - Chasing of trenches for installation of conduit if required - Wiring of basic power and lighting radial, ring, and other common circuits as indicated on a drawing - Wiring of circuitry involving PIRs, contactors, relays, dimming ballasts, dimmer packs, etc according to a drawing. - Mounting and installation of consumer units and distribution boards. - Termination of cables in consumer units and distribution boards - Termination of cables in socket outlets, fused connection units and similar power accessories - Termination of control cables in control panels, contactors, relays and other simalar equipment - Testing of socket outlets polarity, continuity and insulation - Testing of RCDs and voltage presence - Installation of copper tape and earth electrodes - Planning, pulling of all types of single and multicore cables - Termination and glanding of all types of single and multicore cables - Termination and glanding of single and three-phase pumps and motors - Installation of free-standing switchboards, MCCs, Change-over panels and Power Factor Units - Basic reading of electrical wiring schematics which are used during installationProfilesIf multiple Education and Language Profiles are defined, please note that you must fit at least one of them, but not necessarily all.PROFILE 1LanguageReadingSpeakingUnderstandingWritingENGLISHMALTESEISCED Level: Post-secondary non-tertiary education - Level (4)Subjects:Subject Level Grade

Check progress of work and its execution
Place and connect material for low voltage (switches, sockets...)
Activate electrical installation and perform inspections
Install electrical switchboard in residential or tertiary buildings and do wiring. Connect switchboard to equipment
Install and outfit an industrial electrical cabinet
Plan and coordinate activities/interventions by electricians, painters, flooring layers, tradesmen
Check fixture and wiring (value of components, electrical continuity...)
Maintain and repair electrical installations (lighting, ventilation, intercom...)
