- Set up CNC milling machines by installing and adjusting workpieces, tools, and fixtures.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts.
- Operate machines to perform various milling operations, including drilling, boring, and contouring.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to develop CNC programs.
- Create and modify CNC programs using G-code and M-code.
- Optimize programs for efficiency and precision.
- Conduct first article inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to inspect and verify part dimensions.
- Make necessary adjustments to machine settings and programs to correct deviations.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC milling machines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Report any machine malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of production runs, including time, materials used, and parts produced.
- Document any changes to CNC programs and machine setups.
- Work closely with engineers, production managers, and other machinists to optimize production processes.
- Provide feedback on design and production improvements.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform precise measurements and quality checks
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Candidates must already be in Malta, with the legal right to work in Malta
- Completion of a machinist apprenticeship program or technical school training is a must
- Any prior experience in a similar role is considered an asset, especially in 4-axis milling, J-Code or woodwork
- Strong understanding of CNC programming languages is an asset
