- Support the Business Development Manager in identifying and contacting potential clients to win new business and develop new relationships. Driving corporate banking product sales efforts.
- Carry out first line of defense responsibilities, including client screening, counterparty assessments, transaction monitoring, and conducting due diligence on new clients.
- Analyse financial documentation, including accounts, business projections, and plans for lending, and present sound recommendations.
- Prepare credit application proposals in accordance with the Bank's lending procedures.
- Manage, monitor, review, and service a portfolio of corporate clients, participating in customer calls and meetings.
- Provide excellent service to bank clients, attending diligently and promptly to their requests, and support the team with conversion efforts.
- Perform annual loan/overdraft facility reviews and obtain formal renewal approval in line with policy and deadlines.
- Prepare business-related reports including weekly pipeline and performance reports.
- Assist with day-to-day department tasks/activities, including documentation, security perfection, and compiling call reports, term sheets, and minutes of meetings.
- Support the Business Unit Head in directing and consistently executing the Bank's goals and strategies.
- Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to support the overall success of the Unit on an ongoing basis.
- Staying adjourned and adhering to the latest AML/CFT policies and procedures.
- MQF Level 5 or higher in Finance, Banking or related field
- Minimum of 3-4 years' experience in corporate banking or relationship management, with a strong track record in client development and portfolio management.
- Solid experience in credit analysis, financial statement interpretation, and lending practices.
- Proficiency in KYC, AML/CFT compliance, and risk monitoring standards.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills in English and Maltese.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities, with sound judgment under pressure.
- Proficiency in MS Office and mainstream banking systems.
