- Receive, handle, and convert meetings, events and group inquiries.
- Plan events in conjunction with the client.
- Present and sell available and suitable banquet/event options to the highest possible standard.
- Coordinate and carry on venue viewing with potential clients.
- Ensure that administrative work is up-to-date and maintain updated files on active accounts within their area.
- Establish and maintain a high level of communication and effective relations with colleagues and clients.
- Collect information and build a database of clients history.
- Ensure that all refused business is recorded with reasons for refusal or decline.
- Issue contracts and function orders for confirmed business
- Assist the Events Manager in the production of weekly and monthly reports, statistics and forecasts.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position
- Previous experience in hotel operations is a must
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Outgoing personality and smart appearance
- Excellent verbal and written English language; Knowledge of the Maltese language will be considered an advantage.
- A problem solver able to think on their feet.
- A natural leader who demonstrates attention to detail
- A people person able to work in a team, and flexible hours
- Computer literate
