- Ensure full compliance with current Maltese pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Develop, write, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to pharmacy operations within the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
- Educate, mentor, and train pharmacist personnel involved in dispensing activities on best practices, new developments, and the company's QMS.
- Review the integrity of prescriptions received online and follow up on discrepancies via the appropriate online channels.
- Dispense and sign off on medications ordered online, ensuring compliance with national legislation and the QMS.
- Populate all relevant warnings and usage directions for dispensed medications.
- Ensure that warnings and usage directions are clearly communicated to patients via product labels and accompanying documentation.
- Maintain pharmacy premises that are suitable for the proper storage and distribution of medicinal products, in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Provide consultations and patient advice through online channels and/or phone during working hours.
- Handle and resolve patient complaints effectively and professionally.
- Ensure that robust quality control systems are in place to guarantee the correct products are delivered in the correct quantity, to the right addressee, under appropriate transport conditions.
- In coordination with the Responsible Person (RP), verify that all dispensed medicines are legally sourced, especially in the context of customs and freezone pharmacy requirements.
- Maintain Good Dispensing Practice at all times, ensuring adherence to standards set by the Malta Medicines Authority (MA), and promptly address any discrepancies identified by MA representatives.
- Comply with any legal or technical agreements involving the company, its directors, suppliers, customers, subcontractors, or any other stakeholders.
- Conduct regular self-inspections of the pharmacy following a pre-established schedule, and implement necessary corrective actions.
- Assist the RP and management in the execution of medicinal product recalls.
- Ensure compliance with any additional product-specific requirements imposed by national legislation.
- Stay up to date with developments in pharmacy legislation, professional standards, and healthcare trends.
- Support start-up operations by helping to build and validate the medication database for the company's ERP system.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work independently and handle busy periods confidently
- Attention to detail, a calm approach, and a commitment to high standards of patient care
- Warrant to practice as a Pharmacist in Malta
- Proven experience in a community pharmacy setting is a must
