Chief Financial OfficerWe are looking to hire a Chief Finance Officer located in Malta, for an international client in the oil and gas industry. You are expected to be detail-oriented, knowledgeable on statistics, have strong problem-solving skills, and an investigative nature.Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the company’s fiscal activity, such as budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
  • Responsible for verifying all financial reports and ensuring that all transactions are accurate and in compliance with the regulations. Oversees internal, external, and regulatory audit processes. Any other tasks as and when required by the management.
  • Develop and implement robust risk management strategies to safeguard the financial health of the organisation, including compliance with local laws and international regulations and assuring legal and regulatory documents are filed.
  • Understand and calculate the risks involved in the financial activities of the organisation. Identifying and addressing financial risks and opportunities for the company. Plan, organise, and execute financial tasks and projects of the organisation.
  • Supervising the financial reporting and budgeting team. Reviewing financial reports for ways to reduce costs. Complete financial reports, lead the month-end closing process and conduct monthly financial forecast.
  • Lead and oversee all financial aspects of mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, evaluating opportunities, conducting due diligence, and ensuring successful integration.
  • Working well with the Top management to develop the strategic plans and assist in making critical business decisions by providing accurate financial assessments. Provide financial insight and analysis to drive the business performance of the organisation. Evaluate the financial performance of the organisation and measure returns on investments.
  • Manage the company’s capital structure, including debt and equity, to ensure optimal cost of capital and efficient allocation of resources.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that optimise the capital structure, enhance profitability, and support long-term sustainability.
Requirements:
  • A Degree in finance/accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Advanced degree or certifications (such as CFA, CPA, or ACCA) is a must.
  • Overall, 10 to 12 years of related experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with financial management software and systems.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work in fast paced environment.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written.
  • Knowledge of French is a plus but not necessary.
  • Excellent financial/business decision making.
  • Should possess strong financial knowledge.
  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
