
Indirect Tax Specialist

- Prepare and submit accurate and timely VAT returns.
- Reconcile VAT accounts and financial records to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain detailed records of all VAT-related transactions and supporting documentation.
- Monitor and analyse changes in VAT legislation and advise on their business impact.
- Provide expert advice on the VAT implications of business transactions.
- Identify opportunities for VAT optimization and cost-saving.
- Assist in developing and implementing VAT-related policies and procedures.
- Offer guidance on complex VAT issues, including cross-border transactions and group VAT.
- Represent clients during VAT audits and investigations by tax authorities.
- Prepare and provide all necessary documentation to auditors.
- Conduct internal VAT compliance checks to identify and mitigate risks.
- Provide training and support to staff on VAT fundamentals.
- Communicate complex VAT concepts clearly to non-specialists.
- Stay up-to-date with industry-specific VAT challenges.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field. A professional accounting or tax qualification (such as ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CTA) is often preferred.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of local and international VAT regulations. Experience with different tax jurisdictions may also be required.
