The inventory control analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing and giving accurate reporting of the organization's retail inventory level with a focus on minimizing stock losses, whilst maintaining product availability at the right amount and supply needed.The inventory control analyst follows established guidelines to create, administer, analyze and report on all cycle counts and physical inventory of the organization. The Inventory control analyst provides extensive analysis on stock discrepancies using relevant systems and Microsoft Excel using advanced functions such as pivot tables, v-lookups and macros.The inventory Control Analyst is responsible for resolving errors on inventory transactions, maintaining system accuracy for inventory in all Group and franchise operated outlets and managing adjustments and wastages according to guidelines established by the finance unit.Main Responsibilities: * Support Cost Controller and CFO in developing and maintaining procedure for the operational daily inventory cycle counts and weekly shop/territory manager spot checks.
  • Analysis of stock variances from these physical inventory cycle counts, investigating underlying issues and calling management for prompt action where necessary.
  • Analysis of pending invoices and open PO data to address any gaps impacting perpetual stocks in system.
  • Analysis of the weekly wastages and consumables cost by shop to address any gaps impacting perpetual stocks in system.
  • Diligently pass stock adjustments in system to adjust perpetual stocks where necessary after consulting with Cost Controller and obtaining CFO approval.
  • Drive process improvements to reach goals and KPI's.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed to support business.
  • Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial presentations for senior management and board meetings.
Required QualificationACCA or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance (Partly qualified to be considered)Required Skills and Competencies
  • Microsoft Excel – Advanced including Pivot Tables
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic inventory control concepts and proven ability to perform accurate record keeping
  • Inventory control activities
  • Accounting practices related to inventory
  • Previous work experience in a retail environment
