The ICT Engineer - Business Support will play a pivotal role in maintaining, enhancing, and supporting the Company’s Core Business Systems. The position involves providing day-to-day technical and functional support, ensuring system efficiency, and contributing to system improvements while adhering to regulatory requirements. This role requires close collaboration with both internal teams and external vendors to align business solutions with operational needs.Key Responsibilities
- System Maintenance and Support: Maintain and support the Core Banking System and associated peripheral systems to ensure continuous operation.
- Vendor Liaison: Collaborate with third-party vendors to resolve issues, implement enhancements, and manage compliance-related changes.
- Service Desk Administration: Oversee the Business System Service Desk, ensuring timely response and resolution of user requests and incidents.
- Business Continuity: Develop, implement, and maintain a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for core systems to guarantee operational resilience.
- Process Improvement: Identify, propose, and lead initiatives for system or process enhancements aimed at improving operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Education: Degree in Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT support, with experience in Core Banking Systems considered an asset.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required. The ability to communicate in Maltese is an asset.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong team player with excellent listening abilities and a collaborative approach.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL scripting and experience with RDBMS, preferably Microsoft SQL Server. Familiarity with reporting tools (SSRS), PowerShell, and Python scripting is advantageous. Basic understanding of Windows systems and banking operations is desirable.
- Organisation: Strong organisational and multitasking capabilities to manage priorities effectively.
- Self-Motivated: Demonstrates initiative, a proactive approach to learning, and the ability to work independently.
