Join us in driving Excellence, empowering People, and enhancing Communication to create a thriving and impactful workplace.About the RoleOur psychologist shall conduct initial and specialized assessments, including behavior risk evaluations and psychological interventions, within a multi-disciplinary team. They shall monitor client progress, perform regular re-assessments, and prepare professional reports for presentation at case conferences. The role also involves close collaboration with staff to gain a deep understanding of each client’s needs, supporting their development and promoting inclusion at home, in school, and within the community.What you'll be doing
  • Assess new incoming clients using the appropriate psychological assessment tools in order to contribute towards the Multidisciplinary Team’s decision making with regards to the goals for intervention with the client.
  • Follow clients' progress, re-assess for their review sessions so as to contribute to the monitoring, evaluation, and modification of intervention for clients with multiple needs.
  • Participate in Multidisciplinary Team case conferences in order to work in partnership with caregivers and other staff in the development and review of the Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP).
  • Draw up professional reports for each client prior to the Review session and to present such reports within the Multidisciplinary Team & the parents/guardians.
  • Provide consultation to caregivers and other staff regarding the developmental, emotional and behavioural needs of clients, with the aim of supporting effective strategies and interventions within the child’s daily environments.
  • Work collaboratively with families and other staff to develop a comprehensive understanding of each client’s needs for the development of their potential and for the creation of an inclusive environment in homes, schools, and the community.
  • Ensure that up to date written & electronic records, as well as activity data are maintained in accordance with Inspire standards.
  • Provide specialist Psychologist’s reports relevant to the practice setting.
  • Apply specialist skills & knowledge in order to establish professional competence & fitness to practice as a Psychologist.
  • Demonstrate a high level of ongoing continuous professional development (CPD) through participation in internal & external development opportunities, recording learning outcomes in a portfolio.
  • Adhere to the Professional Code of Conduct and Ethics set by the Malta Psychology Profession Board (MPPB).
What we’re looking forAn empathetic, compassionate & qualified psychology professional with excellent observation and analytical skills, open-minded approach, ideally exposed within the disability sector (ideally autism spectrum disorder). The chosen individual shall form part of our STEP Early Intervention Programme (age group 3-5 years).Qualifications & Experience
  • In possession of bachelor’s degree qualification recognized at (MQF Level 6) & a master’s degree qualification (MQF Level 7) in Psychology.
  • Completed all postgraduate professional training in psychology.
  • Minimum three (3) year post graduation experience.
  • Applicants already warranted by the Malta Psychology Profession Board will be favored.
