on analysing, setting goals and supporting colleagues in dealing with challenging behaviour. The psychology assistant will
contribute towards the formation of a behaviour plan and use various techniques, including modelling, to support and educate staff in preventing the escalation of undesirable behaviour, supporting parents, and contributing towards professional reports which need to be generated regularly.What you'll be doing
- Work with individuals exhibiting a variety of difficulties (e.g. autism, challenging behaviour, etc).
- Carry out comprehensive specialist initial assessments of clients within a multidisciplinary context, offer
reports.
- Support the groups ensuring they have the correct resources and knowledge to follow our approaches.
- Work in collaboration with other programmes and services. This may include but not limited to: supervision of
various meetings including team, departmental, operational and organisational ones; coordination of the
psychology service in accordance to contractual obligations.
- Hold office hours to be used for meetings with the different groups to discuss clients.
- Document meetings, conversations, and observations that take place regarding the approaches.
- Provide support to staff in the classrooms as needed.
- Ensure that psychology services use research-based practice and are providing the highest possible standards to
- Establish robust communication networks with clients, carers & other health workers & agencies.
- Be flexible and open to change as may be required from day-to-day.
- Undertake any other duties which may be allocated from time to time, within the general scope of the post and
- Abide to health and safety processes, policies and requirements under the guidance of the Health and Safety
- Inform the (Data Protection Officer) DPO of any potential data breach.
- Provide suggestions to different departments for any areas of improvement.
- Demonstrate skills in communicating complex sensitive & contentious information to clients & carers as
- Promote awareness of the role of the Psychology Service within the Multidisciplinary Team, locally & nationally.
- Maintain professional & adequate reporting systems in both verbal & written documentation form.
- Ensure confidentiality is always maintained.
- Ensure compliance to GDPR policies and procedures in managing data.
- Comply with the foundations Code of Ethics & Professional Conduct, as well as local policies.
- Respect the individuality, values, cultural & religious diversity of anyone within the organisation.
- MQF Level 6 or equivalent in Psychology
- Previous experience in a similar setting with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)/ challenging behaviour clients
- Previous experience with reporting and data collection will be considered as an advantage.
