- Support the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing daily operations across guest rooms, suites and public areas, ensuring they consistently meet Forbes and brand quality standards.
- Be responsible for the general day-to-day operation of the housekeeping department, ensuring practical and organisational workflow runs efficiently.
- Conduct regular staff training sessions, including Forbes service expectations, cleaning techniques, room presentation and guest interaction skills, amongst others.
- Mentor, coach and motivate the housekeeping team to deliver consistent five-star service, recognising achievements and addressing areas for improvement.
- Carry out detailed room and public area inspections to maintain the highest cleanliness and presentation levels.
- Assist with developing and updating SOPs.
- Coordinate staff schedules, assign tasks and monitor performance to maximise productivity.
- Be responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies, ensuring stock levels are controlled and stored properly.
- Control costs and conserve energy within the department to minimise expenses without compromising service quality.
- Maintain accurate records of training, inspections and quality control checks.
- Ensure all cleaning and service activities adhere to health & safety and hygiene regulations.
- Report any maintenance issues, deficiencies in guest rooms or public areas and all out-of-order equipment to the Maintenance department promptly.
- Respond swiftly to guest requests and concerns, ensuring personalised and professional resolutions.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure smooth daily operations and seamless guest experiences.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a hotel housekeeping department.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Experience with housekeeping or hotel management systems (advantageous).
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Commitment to delivering outstanding guest service and maintaining high standards.
- Knowledge of gardening, cleaning products, and cleaning machinery.
