
TV Operations Specialist

- Minimum MQF Level 5 qualification in a related field such as Telecommunications, IT, or Video Editing (or equivalent professional experience).
- A sound knowledge of Sports and Movies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Maltese and English.
- Have advanced computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Required to work on weekends.
- Experience in using Media Asset Management and Playout systems is considered as an asset.
- Knowledge or familiarity in Video Editing or VoD processes
- Produce and issue weekly rosters for TV NOC Technicians, TSN, and VoD QC duties, keeping them updated with changes in content, employee absences, and operational needs.
- Maintain close coordination with the TV Content Team to ensure content is scheduled, prepared, and broadcast as intended.
- Liaise with content providers for the delivery of content, from onboarding to incident reporting and escalations.
- Lead and support TV NOC Technicians in daily operations, including TV and playout systems, live sports events, and VoD QC tasks.
- Manage and optimize VoD workflows, troubleshoot issues with transcoding jobs and content sources, and suggest process improvements.
- Support the Admin team in enhancing the VoD user interface by applying innovative solutions such as stripes, recommendation engines, and middleware integration.
- Maintain updated documentation, change logs, SOPs, KPIs, and performance statistics.
- Supervise Playout Operators during live feeds and recordings (approx. 20 hours per week during evenings and weekends).
- Train, mentor, and coach Playout Operators, particularly during onboarding or operational changes.
- Perform additional duties as required in line with business needs.
