European and International Affairs Officer

• Actively participates in meetings and expert sub-groups held at a European and international level, particularly those of the European Data Protection Board (EDPB), the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS), and other international bodies. Meetings are to be attended both in-person abroad and online.
• Prepares the timely and necessary formulation of documentation, reports and briefs required for EDPB plenary meetings, EDPB expert sub-groups, and other international engagements.
• Undertakes research and provide advice and input to the Commissioner on all European and international matters, particularly, the line to take.
• Engages with other authorities, bodies and entities to advocate and promote the IDPC’s position on data protection issues and foster strategic partnerships.

• Possesses a recognised Bachelor's degree at MQF Level 6 in European Studies or Political Sciences, or in another area strictly relevant to this position. A post-graduate degree in an area relevant to this position will be considered an asset.
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills both in Maltese and English, while knowledge of other languages will be considered advantageous.
• Has a general understanding of data protection laws and principles, and, preferably, has previous exposure to the field of data protection or working experience in a similar regulatory environment.
• Be self-motivated with high performance standards, able to work independently and as part of a team.
