About the DepartmentThe regulation and supervision of company service providers fall under the remit of the Malta Financial Services Authority, which has a dedicated function responsible for authorising and overseeing this sector. Its goal is to ensure authorised providers operate with robust systems and sound governance, protecting both their reputation and Malta’s standing while meeting international commitments. Applicants must first satisfy fitness and propriety standards before authorisation is granted. Ongoing supervision then combines onsite inspections with offsite reviews and assessments to ensure standards are consistently maintained.About the RoleWithin this role you will be joining the Company Service Providers Supervision team in the review of the conduct of respective licence holders. Your work will include any of the following tasks aimed at verifying that authorised company service providers are meeting the requirements of the Company Services Providers Act and the relevant rules and regulations issued thereunder, as applicable:
  • Reviewing and analysing the regular offsite reporting of authorised persons, including annual financial statements, compliance reports and other regulatory returns.
  • Assisting in dealing with queries from authorised persons relating to supervision.
  • Participating in, or assisting and supporting other staff members in the conduct of onsite inspections and other supervisory engagements at authorised company service providers.
  • Assisting in the maintenance and dealing with requests for information from third parties in relation to the applicable legislative and regulatory framework.
  • Carrying out ad hoc assignments related to specific regulatory and supervisory issues that may arise from time to time and to report on the outcome of such assignments as may be appropriate.
You will also undertake any other duties as assigned by the Head and/or as may be required by the MFSA from time to time based on the exigencies of the Authority.About youYou will hold qualification at MQF Level 6 or equivalent qualification in Banking & Finance, Accountancy, Law or in any other relevant field.If you do not have the necessary academic qualifications but have at least five (5) years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you.You will also have the below skillset:
  • Self-driven and ability to meet deadlines;
  • Interest in financial services;
  • Attention to detail and strive for quality and accuracy of the work;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities as may be necessary;
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with other team players and with the industry in general; and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
